Class 1
- My first step was to revisit the Audio Whiteboard and confirm I could get there on my own. I simply revisited the Immersive Education website, found our forums, found our lecture notes, and found the link from there.
- Next I installed GIMP. I attempted to use GIMPShop at first - however, after multiple crashes I decided GIMP was a better option. I played around with the various tools, mostly the pencil and brush tool, and explored the various options of the program. After some time I felt comfortable with the program and decided to draw a picture with the brush. I filled in the image with solid colors and patterns and used the "cartoon mask" to give the image a more cartoonish feel.
- After I felt confident with GIMP, I installed Rocket World. Following the various links and directions I was able to successfully download and install the program. I attempted to login using the guest accounts, however for some reason I was unable to login. Furthermore, I assume once we create our avatars the program will work well.
- My final step was to join the MT35101 yahoo group. The process the fairly simple and I am now just awaiting conformation into the group. Prior to this class, I had never used a yahoo group before. So far they look pretty useful and I look forward to using them.
