Creating MIDTERM 6

I began by opening GIMP and creating a transparent layer

I then used a layer for text and wrote the message "My name is Alex Huntowski"

After creating more layers, I downloaded the Tux image to my pictures.  I then had one layer (with white background) that was designated for the image.  Following the steps on the tutorial, I copy and pasted the image into the clipboard.  Then, I had to anchor the image to the layer.  Furthermore, I had to vary some of the layers opacity so the image would show through and I could see what I was doing.

After reading the second tutorial, I followed the steps and created a new image with a text circle.  The text displayed was simply my name.

I then copied the image, created a new layer, naming it NL 1, and then pasted the image into that layer and anchored it.  I then used the rotation tool and rotated the image 45 degrees.

After repeating the steps several times (adding a new layer, copying the image, and then rotating), I created the image.  I then saved image as an animated gif file.
